Colle Santa Lucia

Colle Santa Lucia ( Col Ladin, German stranding ) is a municipality with 388 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Belluno, Veneto region, southwest of Cortina d' Ampezzo.

The municipality belongs to the Dolomite Ladin area. More than 95 percent of the population speak Ladin and a Romansh.

Geography

The neighboring communities are the Ladin municipalities of Cortina d' Ampezzo ( Ladin Anpezo, dt Hayden ), Livinallongo del Col di Lana ( Ladin Fodom, dt Buchstein ) and the Italian municipalities Alleghe, Rocca Pietore, San Vito di Cadore and Selva di Cadore.

History

Until 1918 the village belonged to the Austrian crown land of Tyrol, and 1964 to the Diocese of Brixen. 1923, the field of book and Anpezo stone was separated from South Tyrol and slammed the Italian province of Belluno. Both after the First World War as after the Second World War, the population demanded the whereabouts or the return to Tyrol and Austria. On 27 and October 28, 2007 voted more than 90 percent of the population for the reintegration in South Tyrol.
