Lamp mountain
Lamp Mountain (basel German: " Lampäbrg ") is a municipality in the district of Waldenburg in the canton of Basel -Country in Switzerland.
Geography
The farm village is situated at 522 m asl on a plateau between the valleys Frenk.
History
Traces of a Neolithic flint mine was discovered in 1989 in the forest area Stälzler. In 1226, the first surviving written mention of Lampenberc is dated. The names on - mountain belong to a later Alemannic settlement era. In the 13th century gave Froburger as lords of the village several goods to the monastery Schoental. Her service man Tight Bad, the nobles of lamp mountain, made donations to the monastery. In 1400 lamp Berg came with the Waldburger office to the city of Basel. Lamp Berg had in the Middle Ages one of the holy Verena consecrated chapel, which was in 1532 converted into a residence.
Coat of arms
As a crest lamp mountain results since 1929 a silver plow on a red background. The tradition speaks of the ploughshare as a symbol of the community. The flag is red and white.
