Lennon is the title of a four - CD compilation album of John Lennon, which includes 73 titles, but no unreleased recordings includes.
Genesis
The most extensive compilation album of John Lennon was put together by Mark Lewisohn. The four CDs each have separate cover and are housed in a slipcase; additional content is a 78- page booklet that lists all song lyrics.
The first CD contains four tracks from Live Peace in Toronto 1969, here in the original mix, three single A- sides, all eleven tracks from John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band and a live track with Frank Zappa.
The second CD contains nine songs of Imagine, three of Some Time in New York City, five of mind games, two live in New York City as well as a single A - side.
The third CD contains nine tracks from Walls and Bridges, six of rock ' n ' roll, one of Menlove Ave., And the three live tracks Whatever Gets You Thru the Night, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and I Saw Her Standing There, this were taken on November 28, 1974 during a concert by Elton John in which John Lennon appeared as a surprise guest. This is the last live performance by Lennon, who has been published in March 1981 as a 12 " single. I Saw Her Standing There, however, appeared in February 1975 as the B- side of Elton John Philadelphia Freedom Single. Elton John released remastered versions of these three titles in March 1995 as the B- side of his CD single Made in England.
The fourth CD contains all 14 published and sung by John Lennon songs of the album Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey.
Publication
In the U.S., the UK and Germany, the album could not place. The box was not released as LP version. The CD release of 1990 has not yet been newly remastered.
