The Lenzburg Township is one of 22 townships in St. Clair County in the southwest of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010, Lenzburg Township had 1047 inhabitants.
The Township is located in the Metro - East called the eastern part of the metropolitan area of Greater St. Louis the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri.
Geography
The Lenzburg Township is located in southeastern Illinois on the left bank of the Kaskaskia River. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with the state of Missouri is located about 40 km west of the township.
The Lenzburg Township is located at 38 ° 15'53 " north latitude and 89 ° 51'45 " west longitude and extending over 50.53 km ², spread over 46.99 km ² of land and 3.54 km ² water surface.
The Lenzburg Township is located south of St. Clair County and is bordered on the south by Randolph and to the west by the Monroe County. Traffic
Due to the northeast of the township runs the Illinois State Route 13, the County Road 27 branches off from this and leads in a north-south direction through the center of the township. All other streets are minor and mostly unpaved roadways.
Parallel to Highway 13 runs a railway line of the Canadian National Railway.
With the Sparta Community Airport small airfield is located approximately 25 km south-west of Lenzburg Township. The nearest major airport is the Lambert -Saint Louis International Airport ( some 75 km north-west ).
