The Fayetteville Township is one of 22 townships in St. Clair County in the western part of the U.S. state of Illinois. In 2010, the Fayetteville Township had 1668 inhabitants.
The Township is located in the Metro - East called the eastern part of the metropolitan area of Greater St. Louis the city of St. Louis in neighboring Missouri.
Geography
The Fayetteville Township is located on the eastern edge of the suburb area of St. Louis. The Township is drained in the north by the Kaskaskia River. The Mississippi River, which forms the border with the State of Missouri, located about 40 km to the west.
The Fayetteville Township is located at 38 ° 21'28 " north latitude and 89 ° 45'19 " west longitude and extending over 70.65 km ².
The Fayetteville Township is located in the extreme east of the St. Clair County and is bordered to the east and northeast Washington at the Clinton County.
