Litoměřice District

The Okres Litoměřice ( German district Leitmeritz ) was a town in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. The Okresy were comparable to those counties in Germany in about and were disbanded on 31 December 2002 as the managing authority. The district is located in northern Bohemia and included large parts of the Bohemian Uplands.

In Okres Litoměřice about 115,000 people lived in 105 communities ( Obec ) 271 districts ( část obcí ).

The area of ​​Okres Litoměřice had been inhabited since 200,000 years ago. Since the 6th century it was the home of the Slavic tribes around the forefather Čech ( Bohemian). The district is located in the southeastern part of the Ústí nad Labem Region (Czech Republic), at the confluence of the Elbe and Eger. With 1032 km ² it is the largest district in the county.
