Lyubov Kozyreva (cross-country skier)

Lyubov Vladimirovna Baranowa - Kosyrewa (Russian Любовь Владимировна Баранова - Козырева; born August 27, 1929 in Bugry, Leningrad Oblast ) is a former Russian cross-country skier who competed for the Soviet Union in the 1950s and 1960s.

In the 1956 Olympics she won the gold medal in the 10 km and won a silver medal in the relay. In 1960, she won two silver medals over 10 kilometers, with the relay.

Even more successful she was at World Championships: It was three times world champion in the relay (1954, 1958, 1962) and even more than 10 km (1954). There are also two more silver medals. In 1955 she became the first Russian woman to win the prestigious race at Holmenkollen.
