Macquarie-Pass-Nationalpark

The Macquarie Pass National Park is a national park in the eastern part of the Australian state of New South Wales, about 10 km west of Wollongong and about 90 km south of Sydney. It involves the area around the pass of the same name in the course of the Illawarra Highway.

The national park was established in 1970 and protects various species of eucalyptus and rainforest. The pass was opened in 1898. Trails

  • The Clover Hill Road is a 3.5 km long, easy path. It follows a service road to Macquarie Rivulet and offers several waterfalls and a large boulder. The path ends 3 km away in a parking lot.   • The Mount Murray Road Track is a lightweight, 1.5km long way. It follows the path of the power line in a loop. Birds: Red- browed Treecreeper, Satin Flycatcher, Black-faced Monarch and Rufous Fantails to watch from late spring to autumn.
