Conjola-Nationalpark

The Conjola National Park (English Conjola National Park ) is an approximately 110 -square-kilometer nature reserve in the Australian state of New South Wales, about 40 kilometers south of Nowra. It lies just east of the Princes Highway and extends to the Pacific Ocean at Sussex Inlet.

The park offers undulating terrain with lakes, including Swan Lake, Conjola Lake and Berringer Lake, streams and lots of woods. The area was inhabited by Aborigines for 6000 years.

There are more than 197 bird species in the park, including more than a dozen are considered threatened. The park is also habitat of the Australian Zwerggleitbeutlers, the Kurzkopfgleitbeutlers, the Great Gleithörnchenbeutlers, the Sumpfwallabys and Rotnackenwallabys.

In January 2013, a severe bush fire raged in the park and it was closed until further notice.
