Mähring is a market in the Upper Palatinate district Tirschenreuth.

Mähring is north of the Upper Palatinate in Stiftland on the border with the Czech Republic on Lohbach, a tributary of Mies.

History

A large part of the municipality belonged to the provost Hohenstein, which belonged only to the primary and court rule of the monastery Reichenbach and was purchased in 1442 from Assen forest monastery. Mähring was the center of a judicial office in Stiftland. The Freedom Charter of 1566, the town was been labeled spots ( market). The municipality was created in 1818 expanded to include up to 1978 independent municipalities Dippersreuth, Griesbach and Großkonreuth.
