Mandy Minella

Mandy Minella ( born November 22, 1985 in Esch- sur -Alzette ) is a Luxembourg tennis player.

Career

Minella, who started playing tennis at the age of five years, won the previous eight single and with changing partners five double tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit. 2013 she won the doubles with Timea Babos their first two titles on the WTA Tour.

With great success, she took part in the games of the small states of Europe: In 2003, she won the silver medal in the individual and in the doubles gold medal in 2005 in singles and doubles gold medal in 2007 and the gold medal in women's doubles. In 2009, she was finally able to repeat their success of 2005 by winning the gold medal in singles and in doubles.

The breakthrough came Luxemburgian at the 2010 U.S. Open, when they failed to qualify for the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time. She defeated top- 50 players Polona Hercog and Tsvetana Pironkova before she was defeated in the third round Venus Williams in straight sets.

On February 23, 2013 Minella scored the first tournament victory on the WTA Tour. On the side of Tímea Babos she won the doubles final of Bogotá. Just nine weeks later, the two could follow in Marrakech their second title.
