Marc-André Gragnani

Marc -André Gragnani ( born March 11, 1987 in Montreal, Quebec ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since May 2013 when HC Lev Prague in the KHL under contract.

Career

Marc -André Gragnani began his career as a hockey player in PEI Rocket, for by 2007 he was active from 2003 in the Canadian top junior league Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. During this time he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2005 in the third round than a total of 87 players from the Buffalo Sabres.

For the Sabres, he was in the 2007/ 08 season his debut in the National Hockey League. Overall, the defender was in his rookie year twice for Buffalo on the ice, the rest of the season he spent with the former farm team, the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. In the 2008 /09 season the links Sagittarius played four more times for the Sabres in the NHL, but spent the rest of the year again in the AHL, where he ran aground on their new farm team, the Portland Pirates.

In the seasons 2009 /10 and 2010/11 he also played for the Pirates in the AHL. 2011 Gragnani was named best defender of the league with the Eddie Shore Award and appointed to the First All -Star Team in the AHL. He also graduated in the 2010/11 season 16 appearances in the NHL and took his case with ten points scorer for a regular place in the following season.

On 27 February 2012 it transferred the Buffalo Sabres along with Zack Kassian in exchange for Cody Hodgson and Alexander Sulzer to the Vancouver Canucks. For the Canucks he still played the season ended before Gragnani for the season 2012/2013 a one-year contract for $ 800,000 signed with the Carolina Hurricanes. Then he came down to one game in the NHL exclusively in the AHL for use.

Since May 2013, is the HC Lev Prague under contract.

Internationally

For Canada Gragnani took part in the U18 World Youth Championship 2005, where he took second place with his team. At the World Championships 2011 he was the first time for the seniors selection of Team Canada in action.
