Marek Schwarz

Marek Schwarz ( born April 1, 1986 in Mladá Boleslav, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender who stands in January 2013 in the White Tigers Liberec in the Czech Extraliga under contract.

Career

Marek Schwarz began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the BK Mladá Boleslav, in which he was active until 2001. He subsequently transferred to the junior level of HC Sparta Prague, gave for the first team goalkeeper in the 2002/03 season his debut in the Czech Extraliga. In the 2003 /04 season, he initially began again at HC Sparta Prague, played in the rest of the season but also for the extra league rivals HC Lasselsberger Plzen and HC Ocelari Třinec as well as Players out on loan to his former club BK Mladá Boleslav, for which he in a play in the first league, the second Czech league, stood between the posts. The 2004/05 season he spent with the Vancouver Giants in the Canadian junior Western Hockey League after he had previously been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the first round than a total of 17 players from the St. Louis Blues.

For the season 2005/ 06 Black returned to HC Sparta Prague in the Extraliga back. With his team, he was a goalkeeper for the first time Czech champion. He also ran as Players out on loan in four games for the second division HC Berounsti Medvědi. From 2006 to 2009 he stood by his Draft St. Louis Blues under contract, for which he ran aground a total of six times in the National Hockey League. For the most part he was playing, however, for their farm team in Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League as well as in 19 games for the Alaska Aces in the ECHL. Towards the end of the season 2008/ 09 he moved to his hometown club BK Mladá Boleslav, who had risen again in the Extraliga in the meantime. For the team, he played in the following two and a quarter years as a goalkeeper. For the 2011/12 season the Czech TPS Turku of the Finnish SM- liiga was committed. There he came into the main round used regularly, but returned after the season back one more time to HC Sparta Prague.

In January 2013, the White Tigers Liberec and HC Sparta exchanged their goalkeeper, so that Black moved to Liberec and Marek Pinc to Prague.

Internationally

For the Czech Republic Black took part in the junior level at the U18 World Junior Championships in 2003 and 2004 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In the U18 World Cup in 2004 and the U20 World Cup 2005, he was with his team bronze medals. He himself has received numerous individual awards at the Junior World Championships, he was voted the best goalkeeper of the tournament selected in both winning medals and in the U20 World Cup in 2005 in the All-Star team.

In the senior level, he stood in the years 2010 and 2011 in the squad of his country at the Euro Hockey Tour.
