Maros-Torda County
County Maros - Torda [ mɒroʃ tordɒ ] ( Hungarian Maros - Torda Vármegye, Romanian Mureş - Turda Comitatul ) was a historic administrative unit ( county / county) in the Kingdom of Hungary.
Geography
The county is particularly in northern and eastern mountainous ( Gurghiu and Giurgeu Mountains with the Saca Mare (Hungarian Mezőhavas ) and Prisica ) and from the river Mures (now Romanian Mureş ) traversed and its tributaries.
It bordered on the counties Bistrita - Naszod ( Beszterce - Naszód ) Csík, Udvarhely, small Kokelburg ( Kis- Küküllő ), Torda - Aranyos and Cluj ( Kolozs ).
History
County Maros - Torda was created in 1876 by the merger of Szeklerstuhls Marosszék with parts of the county Torda.
After the end of World War I in 1918, the area came under the Treaty of Trianon to Romania and is now in the county of Mureş.
