Matsusaka, Mie
Matsusaka (Japanese松 阪 市, -shi, literally: " Pine Hill" ) is a town in the Japanese prefecture of Mie.
Geography
Matsusaka is located west of Ise and south of Tsu in Ise Bay
Agriculture
The city is known for the Matsusaka beef. The flesh of some with beer fattened cows is so expensive that it became a synonym for an extravagant lifestyle in Japan. At a cattle auction, a buyer has paid for an Matsusaka cow the price of 50 million yen ( the equivalent of about 360,000 Euros ). ( See also: Kobe beef )
