Meduno

Meduno ( Midun in Friulian ) is a municipality with 1639 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Pordenone in the Italian region Friuli- Venezia Giulia. Meduno lies at the foot of Mount Valinis.

Location

Meduno belongs to the administrative community Comunità Montana del Friuli Occidentale. The eponymous brook Meduna flows into the plain. Neighboring municipalities are Cavasso Nuovo, Frisanco, Sequals, Tramonti di Sopra, Tramonti di Sotto and Travesio. The quarters are:

Attractions

  • The church of Santa Maria Maggiore houses an altarpiece by Giovanni Battista Piazzetta.
  • Add -called church, which is in addition dedicated to Philip and Jacob is still a Baptismal font by Giovanni Antonio Pilacorte of 1485
  • A marble altar by Giovanni Trognon from the 18th century with statues and altar frontal by Giuseppe Bernardi - Torretti.
