Middle Weser Region
The Middle Weser region includes the original sense, which lies along the Middle Weser region between the towns of Minden and Bremen. It belongs to the federal states of North Rhine -Westphalia, Lower Saxony and Bremen. Often, because of the separate political development of the three states and because of the Tourist Association, founded in Lower Saxony, a few years ago (see below), but only the portion of Lower Saxony is meant by this term. Lower Saxony's share of the Middle Weser Region forms the geographical center of this province. Centers of the Middle Weser Region are the towns of Minden, Nienburg / Weser, Verden ( Aller), in the extreme north of the exercises located outside of Lower Saxony Bremen for his Lower Saxon countryside an important center function.

Landscape
The Middle Weser region consists of flat land on both sides of the Weser River and its tributaries are wide marsh, sandy heathland and moorland with pristine forests. Large parts of the area is used for agriculture. The southern part of the Middle Weser region belongs to the Middle Weser valley, to the north connects the glacial valley of the Aller. North of the Weser between Verden and Achim extends to the natural space Stader Geest belonging Achim- Verden Geest.
Population and language
The region was part of the settlement area of the West Germanic tribe of the Saxons. Larger population intermixing and inflows, there has been almost exclusively a result of population shifts after the Second World War and by the influx of repatriates. The Low German language (Northern Low Saxon ) is still relatively widespread.
Economy
The Middle Weser region, with the exception of the border directly to Bremen villages as structurally weak and agricultural region, which is known for its asparagus. Verden ( Aller) is the center of the horses and cattle. Along the Weser there are several power plants, such as in Peter -Lahde country and mountains.
Traffic
The region is a transit region in infrastructural terms. So runs the northern area, the Federal Highway 27 from Bremen to Verden. From Verden along the Weser the highway runs 215 Nienburg and Leese, where the Weser river is crossed, until shortly before Minden. Between Leese and Minden runs on the opposite side of the Weser, the federal highway 482 in parallel with the main roads 215/482 runs the Weser -Aller -Bahn, between Nienburg and Bremen runs the railway mainline Bremen and Hannover. Mittelweser is navigable for inland navigation. In Minden is the waterway crossing Minden, the entire course of the Middle Weser is regulated by levels, weirs, canals and locks.

Tourism
Most in this range communities of the counties Nienburg in the south and in the north of Verden as well as for Diepholz belonging Samtgemeinde Bruchhausen- Vilsen have teamed up with the objective of close cooperation in tourism to a bandage. Cycle tourism, water walking, equestrian tourism, camping, rural tourism and scenic routes are promoted especially as the river Weser, the Lower Saxony Asparagus Route, the German Fairytale Route, the German Framework Road, the Lower Saxon Mill Road, the road of the Weser Renaissance and the holiday road paths in the Romanesque style. Increasingly, this cooperation will be extended to other infrastructural and economic aspects.
