Mike Beebe

Michael Dale "Mike" Beebe ( born December 28, 1946 in Amagon, Arkansas ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party and in January 2007 the Governor of the State of Arkansas.

Early years

Beebe was born in Amagon, a small town in Jackson County,. He was brought up by his mother, a waitress; his father he has never met. In his childhood, they often changed their place of residence ( Detroit, St. Louis, Chicago, Houston and Alamagordo ), before returning to Arkansas. 1965 Beebe gained his high school graduation in Newport. At the Arkansas State University, he graduated in 1968 as Bachelor of Arts. He then worked as a lawyer. He earned a great reputation as a trial lawyer.

Political career

Mike Beebe began his political career with a 20 - year membership in the Senate from Arkansas, where he sat from 1982 to 2002. In 2002 he was Attorney General of Arkansas, on November 7, 2006 he was elected with 55.3 % of the vote, succeeding Mike Huckabee as the new governor of Arkansas, where he prevailed over Republican Asa Hutchinson. He took up his new post on January 9, 2007. 2010 Beebe was re-elected for a second term.

Governor Beebe is married to Ginger Beebe and has three children.
