Mingus Big Band

Mingus Big Band is a 1991 big band, which is the work of bassist, bandleader and composer Charles Mingus ( 1922-1979 ) committed.

Band History

In the first years after the death of Mingus Mingus played former musicians such as Richard Williams, Jimmy Knepper, Sir Roland Hanna, Ricky Ford and younger admirers Mingus, Mingus Dynasty in the. The band has also performed with Elvis Costello. 2011 her album Mingus Big Band Live at Jazz Standard was awarded a Grammy for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album.
