Mirja Hietamies

Mirja Kyllikki Hietamies - Eteläpää ( born January 7, 1931 in Lemi, † March 14, 2013 ) was a Finnish cross country skier who competed in the 1950s.

Their greatest success was winning the gold medal with the Finnish 3x5 km relay at the Winter Olympics in 1956 that were considered Nordic World Ski Championships in 1956 at the same time, along with Siiri Rantanen and Sirkka Polkunen. She also was second in the 1952 10 - kilometer run. Overall, she won at the World Championships, a gold, two silver and one bronze medal.

In 1955 she was elected to the Finnish Sportswoman of the Year.
