Miss Nederland
Miss Netherlands is a national beauty pageant for unmarried women in the Netherlands, says the domestic Miss Nederland.
He had already a precedent before the Second World War, with the name of Miss Holland. The winners took part in the Miss Europe and Miss Universe. The competition was the first time in 1929 by the magazine Het Leven discharged ( Life ) in Tuschinsky Theater in Amsterdam.
The second precursor existed from 1950 to 1989 under the same name. The winners stood as candidates for the Miss Universe, Miss Europe and (more rarely) Miss World.
1989, announced this competition for several decades: Since there was Miss Nederland, organized by the Miss Nederland Organisatie whose winners participated in the Miss Europe (up to 2007 at the Miss World ). The organizers of the Miss Universe Nederland (1991-2005) delegated its winners to Miss Universe. The competition was temporarily revived in 2008.
The Miss World Netherlands b.v. chose 2008, the Dutch participant in the Miss World.
Since 2009, the participants of Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Europe are again all determined in the contest Miss Nederland.
In addition, there is since 2004 a separate competition for the Miss Earth Netherlands. As the name suggests, a candidate the winner of Miss Earth.
