Geography
Moos is located in the Donau -Wald at the mouth of the Isar River into the Danube.
There are the districts Lange Isar Mayrhofen and moss.
The municipal area also includes the hamlet of Isarmünd, which is located one kilometer south-southeast of the mouth of the Isar and Danube, as well as a section of the Danube immediately southeast Isarmündung (but not the mouth region itself, which still belongs to the metropolitan area of Plattling ).
This estuary is of great scenic beauty and is ideal for long hikes or bike rides. In the former " Maxmühle " (now host house with garden ) and the electric company " Grafenmühle " is the Isar- information center with exhibits on the geology and biology of this cultural landscape.
History
Moss belonged to the Counts of Preysing, but was part of the Electorate of Bavaria. It was a closed Hofmark.
Incorporations
On 1 May 1978 the Municipality of Long Isar Mayrhofen was incorporated with its districts and Gilsenöd Blindmühl in the community moss. This area corresponds to the present-day district Long Isar Mayrhofen.
Population Development
On the territory of the municipality were 1961 1.913, 1970 2.036, 1987, 1851 and 2000 counted 2,130 residents a year.
Policy
First mayor is Hans Jäger (FW). He was the successor of Franz Xaver Rüpl ( CSU / ÜWM ) in 2002. Deputy Mayor Josef Achatz (CSU ).
Parish council
The local elections of March 2, 2008, there were at a turnout of 69.48 % following result:

Culture and sights
Since the summer of 2001, there is a house info Isarmündung, which provides information on the habitat of swamp forests. In addition to the permanent exhibits inside the building the characteristics of the adjacent nature reserve Isarmündung were modeled in the outdoor area of the house info and made accessible to visitors.
In short Isar Mayrhofen is the Catholic parish church of St. Simon and Jude Thaddeus. It was built from 1624 to 1628, the tower from 1646 to 1649. 's Equipment is largely in the Renaissance style.
In moss is the handsome, non-accessible water castle moss.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
