Geography

Moos is located in the Donau -Wald at the mouth of the Isar River into the Danube.

There are the districts Lange Isar Mayrhofen and moss.

The municipal area also includes the hamlet of Isarmünd, which is located one kilometer south-southeast of the mouth of the Isar and Danube, as well as a section of the Danube immediately southeast Isarmündung (but not the mouth region itself, which still belongs to the metropolitan area of ​​Plattling ).

History

Moss belonged to the Counts of Preysing, but was part of the Electorate of Bavaria. It was a closed Hofmark.

Incorporations

On 1 May 1978 the Municipality of Long Isar Mayrhofen was incorporated with its districts and Gilsenöd Blindmühl in the community moss. This area corresponds to the present-day district Long Isar Mayrhofen.
