Nandlstadt

Nandlstadt is a market in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising and is the oldest Hopfenanbauort the world. The place is located in the triangle between the cities of Freising ( 20 km), Moosburg (16 km) and Main Castle (15 km).

History

Nandlstadt was first mentioned in 815 AD as Nandelstadt documented. The place probably received in 1386 by the Lower Bavarian dukes market rights and had a market court magistrate own rights. Nandlstadt belonged to Rentamt Landshut and Moosburg district court of the Electorate of Bavaria. Created in 1818 the current municipality. Nandlstadt is one of 14 Hallertauer hops Seal communities. Incorporations

On January 1, 1972, the formerly independent communities Baumgarten and Figlsdorf were incorporated. 1 July 1972, parts of the territory were added to the former rural community Reichertshausen. On May 1, 1978 parts of the disbanded community Airischwand were incorporated.

Traffic

Nandlstadt was connected through the Hallertau local train to the railway network. The track has since been shut down.
