Nestlé Smarties Book Prize

The Nestlé Smarties Book Prize (Nestlé Children's Book Prize ) was a renowned British Literature Prize, awarded annually since 1985 by the independent company Book Trust to outstanding, published in the UK books.

In the years 1985 and 1986 there were in each case a so-called Overall Winner, in the following years led to three age categories: Books for children under five, for six to eight year olds and nine to eleven year olds. Since 1996, the winners of the first three places in gold, silver or bronze medals. A jury of adults created a selection list, select from the then British school children the winners of the first to third place.

The award was presented by the manufacturer of smarties, the company Nestlé, sponsored.

2008, the price has been set. The decision was mutual agreement of Book Trust and Nestlé.
