Nickel Ashmeade

Nickel Ashmeade (born 7 April 1990) is a Jamaican sprinter.

Career

Ashmeade won at the 2007 IAAF World Youth Championships in Ostrava silver in the 100 - meter race and bronze over the 200 meters. A year later he was at the Junior World Championships in Bydgoszcz Second on the 200 meters.

In June 2011, he presented at the National Training Centre in Clermont Sprint Series with 9.96 s, a new personal best time over 100 meters, and thus became the eleventh Jamaicans that has run under 10 seconds per 100 meters.

At the World Athletics Championships 2011 in Daegu, he reached the final of the 200 meters and came with a time of 20.29 seconds to fifth place.
