Norrbotten County
Norrbotten is a province ( län) in northern Sweden.

The territory of Norrbotten County accounts for 23.5 % of the area of the Swedish territory and is about the size of Baden -Württemberg and Bavaria together.
Here are the Kebnekaise, the highest mountain ( 2,111 m) and with the Hornavan the deepest lake (232 m) in Sweden.

The proportion of the total population of Sweden is 2.8 %. With 2.36 inhabitants per km ² Norrbotten County Jämtland County has by (2.34 ) with the lowest population density of all the provinces.
Traffic

The railway crosses Norrbotten County in north-south direction. The Inland Railway ( Inlandsbanan ) of Gällivare is to Östersund ( Jämtland County ) and Mora ( Dalarna County ) for tourism is of growing importance. The iron ore train ( Malmbanan ) between Narvik in Norway and the Swedish Luleå is one of the most important links of the Swedish rail freight.
With the airports in Luleå, Kiruna, Gällivare, Arvidsjaur and Pajala Norrbotten County has five airports. From Luleå airport insist on regional connections to Finland and Russia.
The Port of Luleå is the most important hub of Sweden in the Baltic region. Through the use of icebreakers are Luleå and Piteå accessible year-round by boat.
