The Norwegian Sky is a cruise ship of Norwegian Cruise Line.

History

The construction of this ship was launched in 1996 at the Bremer Vulkan - originally planned as Costa Olympia for the company Costa Crociere. After the bankruptcy of the shipyard 1997, the hull of the ship to Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven was brought in and the ship then completed there in 1999. The shipping company had the construction contract after the completion of the hull withdrawn, which significantly contributed to the downfall of the Bremer Vulkan. The unfinished ship, the Norwegian Cruise Line then bought up and let expand. It was Norwegian Sky baptized and was the most time in Alaska on a cruise.

In 2003, the Norwegian Sky was then renamed Pride of Aloha and was for the newly founded in 2003, NCL America, a subsidiary of NCL, which performs only cruises to Hawaii until 2008 in service.

In summer 2008, the ship was again returned to the parent company NCL and changed back again in Norwegian Sky on July 14, 2008. In June 2012, bought the cruise line's Norwegian Sky, according to a previ - lowing charter contract for 260 million U.S. dollars.
