The Norwegian Sun is a house built at Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven cruise ship in the Norwegian Cruise Line ( NCL).
Construction
The hull of the cruise liner Norwegian Sun was commissioned by the Lloyd Werft Bremerhaven ( Bau-Nr. 005) at Aker MTW Werft in Wismar. In September 2000 he was taken to the Lloyd shipyard in Bremerhaven. Here the completion, testing equipment and shipyard (as sample) took place. End of July 2001, the cruise liner was removed in an extensive test drive of the classification and the shipping company technical inspection and pass the end of August to the Norwegian Cruise Line ( NCL). The steel weight of the hull is around 15,000 tons and deck surfaces are approximately 20,600 m². For power generation and distribution about 1,500 kilometers of cable were laid in the ship, also about 25,000 light fittings to be supplied with electricity. For fuel supply, cooling water, drinking water and sanitation around 130 kilometers of pipes were laid. The Norwegian Sun costing around 650 million marks, and offers 2,250 passengers.
Travels
In 2013, she will spend the summer in Alaska with cruises between Vancouver and Whittier. Between autumn and spring is in the Caribbean on the road, to reposition the ship offers cruises through the Panama Canal. In the years 2010, 2011 and 2012, the ship sailed the Baltic Sea.
The Norwegian Sun is a sister ship to Norwegian Sky ( NCL) and the Costa Victoria (Costa Crociere ).
