Óbidos is the name of a small town ( Vila ) and a circle in the Portuguese Centro Region and there in the subregion Oeste in the historic area of ​​Estremadura. History

Finds evidence of a settlement since the Neolithic period. The present city name goes back to the Latin term oppidum of a fortified village. Near the fortress town was the Roman city Eburobrittium from the first century AD, according to other sources founded in the 4th or 3rd century BC. Attractions

  • The present city fastening with ramparts and castle was built between the 13th and 16th centuries. Traffic
