Geography
Ormalingen is located on 423 m above sea level. M. in Ergolztal, east of Gelterkinden. Its neighboring municipalities are Buus, Rickenbach BL, Gelterkinden, Tecknau, Wenslingen, Rothenfluh and Hemmiken.

History
Ormalingen was settled very early, so they found a Roman villa and rich early medieval graves. " Norman things" was first mentioned in 1286, it was the name of a settlement and was derived probably from northern man from. Over time, the "N" was lost, and was called the village " Orman things." In medieval times in succession, the counts of Homberg, Frohnburg, Homburg and Thierstein shared this village. 1461 Ormalingen came with the reign Thierstein - Farnsburg to the city of Basel.
