Pallacanestro Reggiana

Pallacanestro Reggiana is an Italian basketball club based in Reggio Emilia in Emilia -Romagna. The first professional men's team played with more than one name sponsors, including long time as Cantini Riunite and most recently as Bipop Carire and Trenkwalder. Since 2012, the men's team will play again in the top domestic league championship in Italy, the Lega Basket Serie A and since 2013 as Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia.

History

Achievements to 1987

The association founded in 1974 increased under the new name sponsor Cantine Riunite in 1978 Series B and 1982 in the second- highest division A2. A year later took over " Dado " Lombardi, a former national player and later a member of the Italian Basketball "Hall of Fame", as coach and won with the team, with the former national player Giuseppe Brumatti, later also a member of the Italian Hall of Fame, reinforced was the championship series of the A2 and promotion to the top division A1. For the top flight to the U.S. American Bob Morse brought back from France to Italy, who had previously celebrated in the 1970 great success with Pallacanestro Varese in the European Cup of Champions and in the Italian championship. " Lift Team " (1987 to 1997)

After a second place in Serie A2 1988 succeeded the immediate promotion back to the Serie A1.
