Geographical location

Parsau lies between the Southern Heath Nature Park and Drömling in the historical landscape of the Vorsfelder Werder, a glacial ridge of. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Brome.

History

Parsau was documented, first mentioned in 1505 as Barso, 1510 Persauw. The name comes from the Old Slavic Prabu for dust or Boru for pine, eg " site at the pine forest.
