Weyhausen

Weyhausen is a municipality in the district of Gifhorn in Lower Saxony. It is one of the velvet municipality Boldecker on land whose headquarters it is.

Geography

Geographical location

Weyhausen lies in the plane of the all- glacial valley, where the Aller flows through the community. Immediately south of the village begins the wetland of Barnbruchs. There branches and the 18 km long from Allerkanal of the Aller and drains water faster than it dissipates the river meandered in his strong performance in this section. History

The first mention was made in 1344 as Weydehusen. In 1350 the town was destroyed by fire and then rebuilt. The original village form was that of a Wendish the winder. According to a settlement directory in 1850 were at that time 16 farms.

Religions

The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Resurrection is located at Kirchweg. It was built from 1958 to 1962, before there was no church in Weyhausen. Their eponymous church belongs to the parish of Wolfsburg -Witt rings, belong to it next Weyhausen also Osloß and Tappenbeck. Coat of arms

Blazon: " From left diagonally divided blue and silver; above: a growing red reinforced silver lion below: a left oblique Blue Wave Stream this a "W" forming, accompanied by a left oblique floating red heart ".

The Lion and the heart, are also included in the coat of arms of Lüneburg and the district of Lüneburg, should clarify the membership of the County and the Region of Lüneburg. The arrangement of the lion represents the superior position of the government and the district to the community.
