Tappenbeck

Geography

Geographical location

Tappenbeck lies between the Southern Heath Nature Park and Drömling. To the east of the town begins at the Valley of the Little All the Vorsfelder Werder.

History

1495 the village was first mentioned. The original village form was that of a Wendish the winder. According to a settlement directory in 1850 were at that time 13 farms.

Economy and infrastructure

Traffic

  • The B 188 leads between Gifhorn and Wolfsburg south past the place. The B 248 leads in south-north direction by Tappenbeck through, from the end of the A39 coming towards Brome and Salzwedel. The continued construction of the A39 just east of Tappen Beck is over planned; in place planning is criticized.

Transportation

There are bus services to surrounding towns such as Weyhausen, Jembke, Barwedel, Tiddische and Lessien.

Established businesses

A large employer is Bertrandt with around 1,400 employees. It is located on the northern edge of the village.
