Patrick Kaleta
Patrick Kaleta ( born June 8, 1986 as Patryk Kaleta in Angola, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player who plays since 2007 with the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League for the position of right winger.
Career
Patrick Kaleta began his career at the St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, before he was selected during the OHL Priority Selection draft in 2002 by the Peterborough Petes and played in the following years for this team. During the NHL Entry Draft in 2004, he was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the sixth round of a total of 176 point. In the season 2005/ 06 he reached Peterborough the Final Four tournament at the Memorial Cup, where his team but only finished fourth. In four OHL seasons with the Petes, he scored 147 points scorer and 460 penalty minutes.
In June 2006, Kaleta signed his first professional contract with the Buffalo Sabres and played for their farm team, the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League. On 21 February 2007 he was appointed the first time in the NHL squad of Sabres and denied on February 22, his first NHL game. In this game against the Ottawa Senators, he reached his first assist and experienced his first fight on the ice against Chris Phillips. His first NHL goal he scored on 10 February 2008 against the Florida Panthers.
Since the beginning of the season 2008/ 09 he found belongs to the NHL squad of Sabres. Kaleta is not so much as play strong or more accurate type of player, but as an agitator who intended to disrupt the flow of the game of your opponent by body checks and tough game.
In the 2013/14 season, he was first sent for a long time about the waiver to the Rochester Americans in the AHL.
