Peter Ölvecký

Peter Ölvecký ( born October 11, 1985 in Trenčín, Czechoslovakia) is a Slovak ice hockey player standing since June 2012 when HC Slovan Bratislava in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Peter Ölvecký began his career as a hockey player with the HC Dukla Trenčín for which he was active in the Slovak Extraliga 2003-2005. With his team the attacker was the same in his rookie year in which he played 16 games, the first Slovakian champion. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2004 in the third round than a total of 78 players from the Minnesota Wild. After the links Sagittarius from 2005 to 2008 already for Minnesota's farm team in the American Hockey League, which was Houston Aeros have accrued, he was in the 2008 /09 season his debut in the National Hockey League for the game. He scored in 31 games overall scorer seven points, including two goals.

In July 2009 Ölvecký signed as a free agent contract with the Nashville Predators. In the 2009/10 season, however, he came only to a use in the NHL and played mostly in the farm team for the Milwaukee Admirals in the AHL. In the same season he also completed some games for the Manitoba Moose before the Slovak HC Dukla Trenčín when a contract signed in October 2010, in which he had played during his youth. After 25 games in which he scored 26 points, he left the club in January 2011 again and signed a contract with KalPa Kuopio in the SM- liiga.

For the season 2011/12 Ölvecký was obliged by HC Lev Poprad from the Kontinental Hockey League. For the team it was point and impunity in six games before his contract was terminated in January 2012 ahead of schedule. He subsequently received a sample contract with Växjö Lakers of the Elitserien, which was extended until end of season on January 29. End of June of the same year he received a sample contract with HC Slovan Bratislava. In early September, shortly before the season started, his contract was extended until 2013.

Internationally

For Slovakia Ölvecký at the U20 World Junior Championship in 2005 and the 2009 World Championships participated.
