Peter Oppegard

Peter Allen Oppegard ( born August 23, 1959) is an American former figure skater, who started pair skating and figure skating coach active.

First he began pair skating at the side of Vicki Heasley, from 1985, it was Jill Watson his figure skating partner. In the years 1985, 1987 and 1988 were U.S. Champion. In the period from 1985 to 1988, she participated in the World Championships. Their only World Cup medal she won bronze in 1987 in Cincinnati behind the Soviet pairs Gordejewa Ekaterina and Sergei Grinkow and Jelena Walowa and Oleg Vasiliev. The same result achieved Oppegard and Watson also at the 1988 Olympics in Calgary.

After ending his career in 1988 Oppegard became a coach. His students have won so far ten national championship titles. Since October 2010, he coached Kim Yu -na at the East West Ice Palace in California.

Oppegard the sister of Michelle Kwan is with the Karen Kwan, married. The couple has two daughters.
