Yvonne Sherman

Yvonne Claire Sherman Tutt ( May 3, 1930 in New York City; † 2 February 2005 in Colorado Springs ) was an American figure skater who started in a single run and pair skating.

In single drive Sherman in 1949 and 1950 U.S. champion and decreased in the period 1948-1950 at three world championships, where she reached the podium twice. At the World Championships in Paris in 1949 she became Vice World Champion behind Alena Vrzáňová. In London in 1950, she won bronze behind Vrzáňová and Jeannette Altwegg. At the 1948 Olympic Games in St. Moritz they finished sixth.

In pair skating, she joined along with Robert Swenning. Together they were U.S. champion in 1947. During their single common World Cup they finished 1948 in Davos fifth place. The Olympics they finished 1948 in fourth place.

After the end of her amateur career, she was a judge point. She married the Ice organizer, official and later president of the International Ice Hockey Federation William Thayer Tutt, the Colorado Springs made ​​to the center of the U.S. Figure Skating Sports and also helped bring some World Championships in Colorado Springs.
