Petr Hubáček

Petr Hubacek ( born September 2, 1979 in Brno, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is since December 2011 JYP Jyväskylä in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Petr Hubacek began his career as a hockey player in his hometown at the HC Kometa Brno, for the first team, he made his debut in the first second-rate league in the 1997/98 season. Then, the attacker moved to HC Vitkovice, for whom he played from 1998 to 2000 in the Extraliga, where he still came in parallel in the 1998/99 season in some games for Brno in the first league to use. In the summer of 2000 he went to America, where he stood in the next two years with the Philadelphia Flyers under contract, who had selected him in the NHL Entry Draft in the ninth round in 1998 when a total of 243 players. However, up to six inserts in the National Hockey League in the 2000/ 01 season he was only in the American Hockey League farm team for the Flyers, the Philadelphia Phantoms, and the Milwaukee Admirals on the ice.

After his involvement the U.S. Hubacek returned to his Czech homeland, where he spent most of the season 2002/ 03 in the HC Zlín in the Extraliga. Shortly before the end of the season he signed, however, the league rivals HC Vitkovice, where he worked previously, and played until 2008, almost exclusively for the club. Only during the playoffs of the 2006/07 season he was at SC Bern in the Swiss National League A under contract. For this he gave two assists in five games. For the season 2008/ 09, the national player of Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk was committed from the newly formed Kontinental Hockey League. After eight scorer points in 35 games he left the Russians early in order to play again for Vitkovice. Towards the end of the 2009/10 season he signed with his hometown club HC Kometa Brno, with which he was able to secure the league in the play- outs. In the course of the 2011 /12 transfer followed in the Finnish SM- liiga for JYP Jyvaskyla, which Hubacek end of the season won the championship.

Internationally

For the Czech Republic Hubacek took part in the World Championships in 2006, 2007 and 2010. His biggest success at international level he reached by winning the gold medal at the 2010 World Cup in Germany.
