Plénisette

Plénisette is a commune in the French department of Jura in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Plénisette is located on 820 m above sea level. M., about eleven kilometers northeast of the city Champagnole (air line). The farming village extends in the Jura, on the vast plateau that connects north to the Val de Mièges, at the edge of the Forêt de la Joux.

The area of ​​2.61 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. Almost the entire area is occupied by a plateau, the average at 820 m above sea level. M. lies. It has only very small differences in relief and is of meadow and pasture land in the northern part mainly covered by forest. The plateau has no above-ground rivers, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground. Southeast of the village goes to the communal land in the valley of a page of Bach Ruisseau du Gouffre de l' Houle. To the north, the municipality's area extends over the plateau in the vast forest area of the Forêt de la Joux. On a knoll is 890 m above sea level. M. reached the highest elevation of Plénisette.

Neighboring communities of Plénisette are Plénise the north and east, in the southeast and Mièges Onglières the south and west.

History

Is first mentioned in the 14th century Plénisette. In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the rule Nozeroy. Together with the Franche -Comté it came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France.

Population

With 24 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Plénisette one of the smallest towns in the Jura. Once the population has consistently had in the first half of the 20th century in the range of about 50 people, there was a decrease especially in the middle of the century. Since the early 1970s, the population remained at a constant level.

Economy and infrastructure

Plénisette was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by agriculture, especially livestock and dairy farming, as well as by the forestry village. Even today, the inhabitants live on the merits of the activity in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector there are no jobs in the village. Some employed persons are also commuters who engage in the surrounding larger towns of their work.

The village is traffic- technically quite well developed. It is located near the main road D471 which leads from Champagnole to Pontarlier. Further road links exist with Mièges and Andelot -en- Montagne.
