Mignovillard

Mignovillard is a commune in the French department of Jura in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Mignovillard is located 860 meters above sea level. M., 17 km east-northeast of the city Champagnole (air line). The scattered village extends in the Jura, on a broad plateau between the Val de Mièges and the Jura mountains of Haute Joux.

The area of ​​49.81 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The northern part of the area is occupied by a plateau, the average 860 meters above sea level. M. lies. History

Is first mentioned in the 13th century Mignovillard. In the Middle Ages, the town belonged to the rule Nozeroy. In 1639, the village of troops of Duke Bernhard of Saxe- Weimar was sacked. Together with the Franche -Comté Mignovillard came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. After Mignovillard in 1965 merged with Petit- Villard, the new municipality was named Mignovillard Petit Villard. Since the merging of Essavilly Froidefontaine and in 1972 the large village called Mignovillard again.

Attractions

The parish church of Mignovillard was built in the 16th century in the late Gothic style. Reconstructions of the ship were made in the 18th century. Population
