Point-Pelee-Nationalpark

Located in the Canadian province of Ontario Point Pelee National Park (French Parc national du Canada de la Pointe- Pelée, English Point Pelee National Park of Canada) was founded in 1918. It is situated on a promontory in Lake Erie and contains the southernmost point of the Canadian mainland.

Point Pelee is known for its numerous ( train ) bird and butterfly species and the rich vegetation. There is also the " Marsh Boardwalk " - a circular walk on planks through the marshlands, where you can observe dragonflies, frogs, herons, turtles etc..

The park is open all year.

2006 as a Dark Sky Preserve ( light protected area, Point Pelee Dark Sky Preserve ) were 2,000 acres (20 km ²), National Park and environment are reported.
