Rauen
Rauen is a municipality in the southeast of Brandenburg Oder-Spree district. The municipality belongs to the Office Rauen Spree Hagen. The administrative headquarters of the Office is in the municipality Spree Hagen.
Geography
Rauen is a Angersdorf and is located at the beginning of the Rauener mountains.
South of the town are the natural monument protected, also Margrave stones mentioned Rauener stones. These stones are the largest boulders in the Mark Brandenburg.

History
The town was first mentioned in 1285. The name Rauen (of Ruwen ) means on the mountainside and quiet, sacred place.
