History

Spree Hagen was first mentioned in a document of the Ottos on the territory of the Fürstenwalder city forest in 1285th

Incorporations

Kirchhofen heard on September 17, 1961 Spreenhagen. December 31, 2001 Brown village was incorporated into Spree Hagen. On 1 July 2002 was added Hartmann village. Markgrafpieske was incorporated on 26 October 2003.

Historical monument

The memorial stone of 1975 in the avenue of lime trees of the local part Hartmann village commemorates the victims of an SS massacre that was perpetrated in the night from 21 to 22 April 1945, 16 ( according to other sources 20) residents of the local part Hartmann village, which Red Army to surrender without a fight.
