Ražanac
Ražanac (Italian Rassanze ) is a municipality in Croatia in the Zadar County
Location and population
Ražanac located 20 km north-east of Zadar. The town lies on the Velebit Channel, east of the road to the island of Pag.
The municipality consists of the eight places Jovići, Krneza, Ljubač, Ljubacki Stanovi Podrvšje, Radovin, Ražanac and Rtina and has 2,940 inhabitants, of which only 943 live in the main village Ražanac ( 2011 census ).
History
The settlement was founded in 1507 when the area braced against the Turks. The fortress was built in 1570 but was destroyed by the Turks.
