Red Hot Rio

Red Hot Rio is a compilation album by the New York AIDS support organization Red Hot Organization in the year 1996.

On the album, the music styles of Rio de Janeiro will be linked to international, modern music styles. This is done with unusual duets and collaborations, as well as musically innovative concepts. The mixture of traditional acoustic instrumentation and contemporary electronic sounds was above all a tribute to the Bossa Nova, whose cheerful, melancholy, vibrant, jazzy music, especially from the pen of Tom Jobim went around the world since the 60s.

The CD is the 7th of the previous 16 charity albums that were released by the Red Hot Organization to support global AIDS relief projects.
