Rescue Me is a pop song by the American pop singer Madonna. He was released on 26 February 1991 as the second single from her greatest hits album The Immaculate Collection (1990). In the UK the song was released in April 1991 as the third single of the album.

The lyrics of the song speaks of the salvation of man through love. In desperate words, the singer wants freed and rescued by a loved one from their current situation ( Save me, it's hard to believe that I'm drowning, baby, throw me your rope ). The song was released in the UK until April 1991, as the remix version of Crazy for You was released in February of the same year. For the remix version of Rescue Me Gesangsauschnitte of True Blue, Open Your Heart Justify My Love and Vogue were used.

Commercial success

Rescue Me debuted on March 2, 1991 to number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100, the highest entry since Michael Jackson's debut on 11 February 1984 Thriller at No. 20 Rescue Me reached number 9 with its peak position on the Billboard Hot 100 and was another top ten hit for Madonna in the USA. On 24 May 1991, the single by the RIAA was certified gold. Rescue Me came straight into the UK charts at No. 3 with 134,764 units sold. A video of a performance of the song four years earlier was used to promote the single on the Who's That Girl Tour. Otherwise Rescue Me was the world for Madonna a top success with many top 5 finishes.
