History

The noble family of Trautenberger was 1337-1601 owner of the castle or the Gutsherrschaft Reuth. The property was passed in 1602 over by marriage to Georg Friedrich von Unruh and got to the related family of Sparnecker.

In the time of the family of Sparneck in Reuth (1628-1744), the foundation of the castle brewery Reuth 1742 fell. From the tradition of brewing rights in the form of a brewery was established in 1742 a commercial operation. The Barons of Reitsenstein bought the Hofmark Reuth in 1772 and practiced until 1848, the manorial system and low jurisdiction.

Incorporations

In 1945 or 1946, a part of the formerly independent municipality Trautenberg was incorporated. On 1 January 1972 Röthenbach was added at the Stone Forest.

Coat of arms

Blazon: Add two red silver oblique beams, whose front is covered with three blue tips.

The community leads the coat of arms since 1982.

Culture and sights

The chancel arch of the sanctuary is decorated with a two meters wide Rosary Madonna, created in 1803 by local master carpenter Johann Michael Näger. Artistic model could have been the Rosary Madonna by Tilman Riemenschneider in Volkach.

  • About the B 299 can be reached from Reuth off after about five miles from junction Falkenberg A 93 Regensburg -Hof.
  • From 1894 to 1958 Reuth was the starting point of a narrow gauge industrial railway, the railway line Reuth Peace rock.
  • Reuth has a station on the railway line Regensburg Oberkotzau.
