Rich Brennan

Richard " Rich" Brennan ( * November 26, 1972 in Schenectady, New York ) is a retired American professional ice hockey player who during his active career, among other things for the Colorado Avalanche, San Jose Sharks, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Nashville Predators and Boston Bruins played in the National Hockey League.

Career

Brennan began his career in 1991 at Boston University where he played for the local hockey team. During the NHL Entry Draft in 1991, the leaders of the Quebec Nordiques secured the rights to Brennan when they selected him in the third round at a total of 46 positions. He stayed then until 1995 in Boston. The Nordiques had since moved and played as Colorado Avalanche in Denver. They brought him in 1995 in her at that time the farm team, the Cornwall Aces in the American Hockey League. A year after her move moved Colorado as well be a farm team and then Rich took place at the Hershey Bears again. Twice he was allowed to play this season in the NHL.

After the season they gave him to the San Jose Sharks from, but here he was mostly in the AHL for the Kentucky Thoroughblades in use. Eleven games he played for San Jose and was able to achieve his first goal in the NHL. At the end of the season 1997/98 he has been issued but again. His new NHL team was the New York Rangers, he was here, but for now only in the farm team in Hartford Wolf Pack used. It was only during the 1998/99 season, he spent two-thirds in Hartford, he arrived at Rangers to 24 missions in which he scored his second and final NHL goal.

Actually, the Nashville Predators were supposed to be his next target, but before the season went on his rights to the Los Angeles Kings. He played almost two years, only Lowell Lock Monsters of the AHL in and got in the 2000 /01 season only two appearances in the NHL. In the season 2001/ 02 he went four times for the Nashville Predators onto the ice. His teams this season, the Manchester Monarchs and the Milwaukee Admirals.

The next stop was the Boston Bruins, for which he was allowed to play seven times. Here he spent the most time in the farm team for the Providence Bruins. In the second year it no longer, he managed to prevail in the NHL. The NHL went on strike the following year and Rich Brennan forced a move to Europe. In Switzerland, he played a game for the SC Langenthal and stood 28 times for the SC Bern on the ice before he came to Germany in the course of the season. In the season 2004/ 05 Brennan then moved to the German Hockey League, where he first stood at the Augsburg Panthers under contract. In summer 2005, the defender then switched to the Nuremberg Ice Tigers. For the Nuremberg defender completed a total of 152 games, scoring 92 points scorer. Brennan was therefore one of the best defensive players of his team point. At the end of the season 2007 /08, his contract was not renewed. The following season, the American was active for the HC Innsbruck in Austria, before he ended his career after this season.
