Rissa is a commune (municipality ) in the central Norwegian county Sør -Trøndelag.
Geography and History
Rissa is located on the north coast of the Trondheim fjord on the Fosen peninsula. The municipality was created in 1964 by the merger of the municipalities Stjørna, Rissa and Stadsbygd.
Economy and Transport
From the village Rorvika a ferry to Trondheim. In Rissa is the shipyard Fosen Mekaniske Verksteder A / S.
People
Rissa is home to Skule Bårdsson, which could be explained in 1239 to the Norwegian king. The German painter Rissa chose her stage name of this place.
